Board of Directors
Home Forward Iowa’s board consists of 15 members who are committed Iowans representing different parts of the state and all four Continuums of Care. They come from a variety of professions and bring unique perspectives to our efforts to end homelessness in Iowa.

Tara Carr
Tara is the Executive Assistant to the CEO & Chief Strategy Officer at Western Home Services, Inc. She represents the Black Hawk/Grundy/Tama Coordinated Entry Region. Tara’s professional experience in housing connects her to Home Forward Iowa’s mission.

Kristin Millhollin
Kristin is a Victim Advocate at Crisis Intervention & Advocacy Center, and she is from the South Central/West Coordinated Entry Region. Kristin has significant experience with coordinated entry, and she is passionate about homelessness and those affected by it.

Linda Munden
Linda is the Associate Director at the Bridge Home, and she represents the Two Rivers Coordinated Entry Region. Linda has significant professional experience related to homelessness and housing.

Eric Tudor
Eric is the Associate Director of Strategy & Recruitment at Dordt University, and he is from the Northwest Iowa Coordinated Entry Region. He is enthusiastic about working to improve rural poverty.

Jennifer Ratcliff
Jennifer is the Executive Assistant for Investor Relations, Business Development, Finance & Accounting at Casey’s General Stores. She is from the Polk County Continuum of Care. She was drawn to join Home Forward Iowa’s board because of her passion for bettering the communities served by Casey’s.

Dennis Ahern
Dennis is a Production Floor Supervisor at John Deere, and he is from the Black Hawk/Grundy/Tama Coordinated Entry Region. He has a passion for issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Shane Eloe
Shane is a Certified Public Accountant from the Omaha/Council Bluffs Coordinated Entry Region. He joined the board because he was drawn to Home Forward Iowa’s mission and the work it is doing.

Megan Merritt
Megan is a lawyer with Shuttleworth & Ingersoll who specializes in civil litigation. She is from the Linn/Benton/Jones Coordinated Entry Region. She joined Home Forward Iowa’s board because she is passionate about furthering the opportunities of women and children.

Karen Mackey
Karen is the Executive Director of the Sioux City Human Rights Commission. She represents the Woodbury/Dakota Coordinated Entry Region. Karen was motivated to join the board because of her concern for the problem of homelessness, especially in Sioux City.

Garrett Christeson
Garrett works for Dell selling data center services. He is from the South Central/West Coordinated Entry Region. He was driven to join the board because of Home Forward Iowa’s mission.

Bob Davis
Bob is a native of Eastern Iowa who works as Outreach Program Manager at Community Health Outreach, Inc. in the Quad Cities/Bi-State Region. His work connects directly with homelessness via the services provided by CHO, and he also convenes bi-weekly meetings of service providers in the Quad Cities.

David lives in Polk County and is a Senior Rental Housing Specialist for the Federal Home Loan Bank within the Community Investment Division, Affordable Housing Programs. One of his professional designations includes a Member of Appraisal Institute as Certified General Appraiser. Ashley Vaala
Ashley is founder and Executive Director of The Lotus Community Project, a shelter for single women and women with children in the Upper Des Moines Coordinated Entry Region. Her inspiration is driven by her personal experience with incarceration and homelessness and her faith that lives can be turned around with proper support.
