We Envision a State Where...

✔      Homelessness is avoided by connecting households with appropriate resources before they lose their housing.

✔      Individuals and families who do become homeless are quickly sheltered and moved into housing, minimizing the period of trauma and instability.

✔      Developers are required to provide affordable housing, and are fairly compensated for incorporating affordable units into their overall building plans.

✔      Every community has a short-term shelter plan when no other options are available; such as an actual shelter, motel-vouchers, or safe spaces set aside for such use.

✔      Communities regularly assess and monitor housing needs based on population and economic factors and are thus able to ensure that housing stock is adequate.

✔      Safe, adequate housing is widely viewed as a basic need on par with that of food and security, where private and public resources are directed toward systemic solutions.
